Professional development course for school staff

"Watch Your Language: Enhancing Literacy using Closed Captioning"
This is a course designed to inform school staff about the use of captioned videos and television to improve comprehension and literacy skills for all students. Participants will learn how to find the captions, learn about the U.S. Department of Education funded research, history, laws and benefits of captioning. They will learn strategies to help improve student literacy skills and reading scores through the use of captioning both at school and at home.
